The first time EVER!

So, every night, Bud and I love to cook dinner together. Isn't he wonderful?? He always cooks the meat and I cook everything else. We love to BBQ and it isn't unusual that we do it every night. So last night was chicken thighs and drumsticks and we were so excited because it looked so yummy and we were very hungry. They were just about done so and looked awesome. Bud put them on the top shelf of the BBQ at that time to wait until everything else was done. He was on the phone with his little cousin as I was waiting for the rice to be done. All of a sudden we started smelling something. It smelt like melting/burning plastic. We both looked at each other and said, "what the heck is that". We starting freaking out and looking all over the place. I was looking all around the stove and kitchen. He was looking all around the TV and sterio. Finally we figured that it must be coming from the people upstairs, because, unfortunetly, smells sometimes leak through the vents. Luckly we haven't had anything to nasty come through.
I told Bud the rice was done and to go get the oh so yummy chicken and we'll eat. He walks outside and the next thing I hear was, "Babe? You said you liked your chicken a little crispy right?" OH MY GOSH! I walked out side to find that the BBQ had gone up in flames and our chicken was no longer oh so yummy looking. IT WAS BLACK. It had burnt so bad that Bud went to pick up a drumstick and the bone just crumbled! We couldn't believe it. Never, ever has he burnt ANYTHING. He always cooks with the burners on the side only and always on low. He is the BBQ Master! On top of that, we couldn't believe that it burnt so bad and it was even on the top shelf. Apparently this chicken was oh so very juicy because all it's juices must have dripped down and set it on fire. Our BBQ is just fine (thank goodness), but the chicken, well that was a different story. Take a look for yourself. We ate it anyway because we were starving and after a little picking and some ranch, it was just fine.

Life with a baby~

OK, so another crazy night with our little kitten and let me tell you, I would much rather have a real baby and wake up every couple hours to a crying baby for feedings and changings, then to wake up to super sharp needle-like claws scratching at my face and rolling over into yet another puddle of pee! I AM ALL SCRATCHED UP! IT'S NOT OK! He's just not understanding yet that when you have to pee, YOU GO IN THE POTTY BOX! I mean come on, it's not that hard, right??? OK, I know he's only 3-4 weeks old, he's just a wee little guy, but after last night, Bud and I are ready to put him in his own bed. Bud and I will finally be able to sleep near each other again! HOLLA! High fives all around for that. And no pee in the bed! Heck yes! Super excited! Maybe I'll actually get to sleep tonight.

Our new little boy

The other day, I was in a meeting and when I was done, I looked at my phone to find 20 missed calls from my husband and numberous texts. I thought, "What in the world is going on"? So I read his last text that said, "Babe, I have a new friend that is at my parents right now and I named him Gizmo"! I though, oh great, what is it this time? So I called him and he proceeded to tell me the story.
Bud works with a company that cleans up and remodels forclosures. He went to this one house that day that was abandoned and he saw this box. When he walked up to it, he noticed a bowl of water that was almost empty and a bowl of cat food, also almost empty. As he looked around he found three kittens. Teeny tiny kittens. He decided to bring one home. So this is Gizmo! He is about 3-4 weeks old and has the cutest little personality. We took him to someone who could tell us how to tend to this little one, because he is so little that we have to bottle feed him. Not only that, but I learned I had to stimulate him to go to the bathroom. GROSS. OK, OK, it's not the stimulating part I've found to be gross, but the fact that he doesn't go when you stimulate him to. He's peed on our bed now 3 times! The first time was right on our duvet and down comforter, so I had to wash both of those. The other two times was last night. We make him his own little cave out of his blanket and last night it was as if he didn't even wake up, he just peed! Thank goodness the blanket he sleeps in doesn't absorb so it didn't leak through to our sheets. So after I took that one and put it on the washer in the middle of the night, I replaced it with another blanket that is just the same. This morning when I woke up, guess what? Yup, a puddle of pee in his little cave. Man, I'm doing a lot of laundry! I can't wait to get him on a routine. So here he is. Isn't he cute?!

Like father, like son!

Surprise, Surprise

After weeks of Bud "complaining" that he's never had a surprise party, and me telling him he just wasn't going to get one because "I'm just way too busy", I successfully threw him TWO surprise parties. He turned 25 on Friday the 24th and that night I had all the family get together at Outback (Bud's pick), and surprised him when we walked in pretending to be a party for 2. We walked around the corner and there was all our family with balloons and a song! He was totally surprised! Success #1 complete!

Surprise #2 came the following day and I knew he really wouldn't be expecting ANOTHER suprise. I had his friend help me get him our of the house to go "hang out with the boys". This party was at our place and was with all our friends! It became a little crazy when we didn't know how to get him back home. He thought I was out at a Pampered Chef show and he wanted to stay out. He did not want to come back home. So after much pushing and tugging, his buddies talked him into going back to the house and ordering pizza and hanging out. For some reason, he called the house and my friend Rae answered it. She ran outside telling me that it was him and right then and there I had to come up with a reason why I was at home. "Well, the show was canceled and my director forgot to tell me, so I just came back home". "Who answered the phone"? "Oh that was Rae. I didn't want to be here by myself, so I invited her over". Nice save! He thought nothing of it and then proceeded to let me know he was on his way home and they were going to order pizza. "OK, see ya in a little bit". As he walked through the door, everyone yelled surprise and blew noise makers! (I made sure to make it like a little kid party. It was awesome!) He was so shocked that I had threw him, yet, another party! Even more surprised that I kept it a secret the whole time. He couldn't get over that. I told him he got a 2 for 1 deal and that he couldn't complain anymore! It was a blast and we all had a great time! Success #2 Complete!

Long time, no blog

OK, so it has been a few months since I've been on here-due to wedding stuff and the lack of knowlegde I had on the ins and outs of blogging. Thanks to Diana, I'm on track now and going to hopefully be blogging regularly!
So, since my last blog at lot has happened. Bud and I got married on September 20th and it was so wonderful. I couldn't have asked for anything more! It was just how I imagined it to be and so much more. There were some things that didn't go as written, but it didn't matter, everything was wonderful.
Here is what Bud did on our wedding night. HA HA. I don't blame him. I was exhausted too and I was taking an hour long shower trying to comb through all the knots in my hair. I came out to find my husband alseep in front of the TV, remote in hand and an open box of chocolates. Classic!

We left the following day to set out on our honeymoon. We went to the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Disneyland and Universal Studios. We had such a great time. It was not very relaxing, but it was fun and we got some special attention out of it too!
